Compare AI Image Models: GPT Image 2, Nano Banana 2, Seedream, and More
GPTImage2.to is an independent comparison and reference site for AI image models β not an image generator and not an official OpenAI product.
This site started as a GPT Image 2 release tracker. Now that GPT Image 2, Nano Banana 2, and Seedream are all publicly documented, the useful question isn't "is it live" anymore β it's "which one should I actually use." GPTImage2.to compares models head-to-head on quality, price, API access, and licensing using each provider's documentation.

Introducing ChatGPT Images 2.0 β the next-generation image model that thinks before it draws. Near-perfect text rendering, multilingual scripts, web-search during generation, and 2Γ the speed of 1.5.
β @OpenAI April 21, 2026
The text rendering leap: GPT Image 2 handles dense, curved, multilingual layouts cleanly β including tiny label text in a print-ready magazine spread.
β @OpenAI April 21, 2026
The model thinks before it generates β spending more or less time reasoning depending on the mode, and can even search the web during generation.

ChatGPT Images 2.0 is rolling out to all ChatGPT and Codex users starting today. The gpt-image-2 API opens to developers in early May.
β @OpenAI April 21, 2026
gpt-image-2 on the API: extreme prompt adherence, native text rendering, consistent characters across up to 8 images from a single prompt. 3:1 to 1:3 aspect ratios, 2K resolution.

What is this site?
GPTImage2.to is an independent comparison and reference site for AI image-generation models. It is not a hosted image generator, is not affiliated with OpenAI, and does not represent any model provider. It started as a GPT Image 2 release tracker; the useful questions have now shifted from "when" to "which one."
We compare models head-to-head on image quality, pricing, API access, and licensing terms β sourced from each provider's own documentation, not marketing claims. Where a model's rollout is still uneven across ChatGPT plans or API tiers, we call that out directly instead of glossing over it.
No fake countdown clock, no vague hype, and no directory of every AI tool under the sun. This site stays focused on AI image models and the workflow decisions that come with actually using one β prompting, cost estimation, and provider verification.
Pick the models you're deciding between
Start with a head-to-head comparison page β GPT Image 2 vs Nano Banana 2, vs Seedream, or vs DALL-E 3 and Midjourney.
Check access and pricing for your use case
We separate API availability, ChatGPT plan behavior, and per-model pricing instead of collapsing them into one claim.
Estimate cost before you commit
Run your expected volume through the cost calculator so the pricing decision isn't a guess.
How this comparison hub is different
This is a sourced model comparison, not a rumor countdown or a generic roundup.
| What matters | This site | Generic "best AI image tool" roundup | Reddit thread | Social timeline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Model-vs-model comparison | Yes, head-to-head | Sometimes, often stale | Depends on commenters | Rarely |
| API vs consumer-access distinction | Yes | Often blurred | Mixed | Usually missing |
| Pricing sourced from docs | Yes | Sometimes | Fragmented | Fragmented |
| Cost calculator included | Yes | Rarely | No | No |
| Affiliate-driven rankings | No | Often | No | N/A |

Is GPT Image 2 officially available now?
Yes. As of April 21, 2026, OpenAI's developer docs show a public GPT Image 2 model page, pricing, and updated image-generation guide entries. We track this alongside comparable models like Nano Banana 2 and Seedream.
Does ChatGPT Plus include GPT Image 2?
ChatGPT Plus includes image generation broadly, but exact GPT Image 2 access can still depend on rollout and product-surface behavior. We cover that distinction directly in the updated Plus article.
Is there an API for GPT Image 2?
Yes. OpenAI's current model docs, pricing, and image-generation guide now treat GPT Image 2 as a public developer model. See our GPT Image 2 vs Nano Banana 2 comparison for how its API stacks up.
How does GPT Image 2 compare to Nano Banana 2 or Seedream?
See our direct model comparison pages β we compare quality, pricing, and API access for each pairing, sourced from each provider's own documentation.
Do you have a live demo or playground on this site?
No. This site is a comparison and reference hub, not a hosted generation tool. Use each provider's own product β ChatGPT, the OpenAI API, or the relevant vendor's app β to actually generate images.
What happened to the old GPT Image 2 Countdown?
Now that GPT Image 2, Nano Banana 2, and Seedream are all officially documented, the countdown phase is over. The domain kept its name but changed focus: it's now an independent comparison hub for AI image models.
Are you affiliated with OpenAI or other model providers?
No. This is an independent comparison site. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
